When the storm hits, strong communication is needed

Successful communication is targeted, clear and to the point. Good communication is much more craft than theory. Strong communication is pragmatic and always has a clear goal.

Experience is an important aspect of good communication. After thirty years as responsible communications manager in Sweden, Germany, England and Luxembourg, I would like to pass on this experience. Not in theory, but in a very pragmatic and goal-oriented way, based on my own experience. One subject is particularly close to my heart: crisis communication.

Crisis communication is the highest discipline of communication. Mistakes are costly, but good crisis communication can help a company. Market share and reputation are not earned when the sky is blue and the sun is shining. They are earned when there is a storm. That’s when you need strong communication. In a crisis, you need to manage all audiences, both external and internal. Success factors are speed and clear processes. Crisis communication is a high-level craft. If you can do that, every crisis is an opportunity! My guiding principle is ”Gilla Läget” (in English: Embrace the situation!)!

Crisis communication, training

As a communications consultant, I’ve put together a training programme aimed specifically at medium and small businesses. Large companies have entire staff departments and an infrastructure. But in medium-sized and smaller companies, there’s often only a small team or just one person taking care of communications. Often alongside other activities. My target group is mainly small and medium-sized companies in Dalarna, Sweden, that have a short travelling distance – and little time to attend a two-day course in Stockholm.

My training skips long-winded theory. My training provides the relevant and directly realisable knowledge that you need to prepare for, but also to successfully manage a crisis. My promise is that every participant will have a basic crisis communication plan after three hours. And I also promise that every participant will look forward to the next crisis!

In the training, we address all aspects of preparation and processes during a crisis in a very practical way. All you need to bring is a blank piece of paper, a pen and the will to spend three interesting and lively hours.

Next training session

The next crisis communication training will take place on November 19 2024 in Leksand at Hotell & Restaurang Moskogen.
We meet for coffee at 8.30 and start at 9.00. After three hours, we round off the training with a joint lunch.
In the afternoon you will be back at your workplace. The training costs SEK 2495 per person, including lunch, plus VAT.
